The admission/rescue nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the admission of patients to the medical center and assists other nursing personnel as directed.

Cath Lab Specialist (RN or RT) – (0895)
Department: Heart Center
Assists physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization/peripheral vascular/pacemaker procedures. Provides nursing care to patients, both care delivered personally and the care provided by members of the team to which care is delegated.

Certified Massage Therapist – (0301)
Department: Rehab Services
Provides therapeutic massage to clients of Wellness Services. 500 hours of massage education from an accredited program to include training in sports injury and geriatric modalities. Experience in administering therapeutic massage in a hospital setting preferred. Passing score on National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB), First Aid and CPR.

Responsible for affiliation contracts for allied health and serves as liaison to all public/private schools, colleges, and universities utilizing the Medical Center as a clinical site. Responsible for patient education services. Responsible for clinical practice policy development and policy archive system for the patient care division. Responsible for planning and development of education functions to meet competency requirements of the work force.

Plans, directs and implements the hospital and medical staff performance improvement programs to improve clinical outcomes and reduce medical errors. Coordinates hospital and medical staff activities intended to maintain compliance with JCAHO and KDHE requirements.

Laboratory Assistant – (0156)

Collects blood specimens (capillary and venous) processes and stores samples. Also assists with filing, billing and other office duties. May also perform a limited number of bench tests in the clinical laboratory after proper training.

Under direction of a licensed psychologist or physician, provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and intervention to acute, chronic or moderately disturbed mentally ill clients and patients. Contributes to the development and maintenance of clinical programs. Delivers care across all Behavioral Health Services Programs.

Responsible for the day-to-day scheduling, simulation, treatment device production, chart review and treatment delivery of patients receiving radiation therapy in the cancer center.

The Utilization Management Nurse: 1) is a registered nurse that assumes the responsibility and accountability for the coordination and facilitation of services needed to care for a patient during an entire episode of care, 2) coordinates and is responsible for cost effective utilization of resources and timely movement of the patient through the care continuum, 3) assists with utilization management and quality improvement/risk management responsibilities including completing review functions and computation of data as directed by the UM Coordinator and the QI/Risk Manager, and 4) serves as a key member of the professional staff who coordinates and manages patient process through the continuum of care specific to individual patient needs.

Responsible and accountable for providing timely and accurate optimized coding for all patient records. Well versed in ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 coding. Knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations relating to accurate coding. Uses Coding Coordinator as a reference person regarding coding issues that arise.

Department: Mobile Mammography
Assists staff in the Mobile Mammography Unit by providing receptionist duties. Greet and check-in patients, schedule new patient appointments, return visits, lab and register new patients, and perform billing duties and update all patient information.

Responsible and accountable for providing timely and accurate distribution of health information. Phone calls will be answered within 3 rings. Follow-up will be done immediately for all stat requests and by the end of the workday for other requests unless reports are not available because of incompleteness. Outpatient processing will be kept up daily and follow-up regarding missing reports will be done not less than twice a week. Patient information and knowledge about other employees gained through position within the hospital is to be kept strictly confidential.

Serves as customer contact for the Medical Center. Directs and/or physically assists patients/visitors to their designated location. Assures adequate resources are available at the information desks. Provides information regarding activities/meetings within the Medical Center. Coordinates activities of staff for outpatient information desk and clinic reception area.

The Medical Transcriber is responsible and accountable for all medical reports and tests needing transcribed excluding psych. and clinics. Beginning typing speed must be minimum 80 words per minute and reports must be 95% error free based on no more than 2 mistakes per full typed page. All transcribers are responsible for being able to type any report; these include, H&P;’s, Discharge Sums, Consults, X-Ray, Echos, EEG’s/EKG’s, Stress Tests, Operative procedure reports, Path reports, Holters, Stats, etc. from any physician. Must be able to use word processor.

Provides transportation services for medical center including: Transport of employees, patients, lab reports, specimens, medical records, mail, supplies, packages, etc. as directed.

Administration

Cardiology Program Director – (0977)
Department: Heart Center
Provides leadership in support of overall Cardiology operations. Facilitates program integration across the cardiovascular continuum of care within Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Coordinates a wide variety of technical, human resources, and fiscal activities to ensure efficient operation of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, patient-focused approach to the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease and to the treatment of cardiovascular patients.

Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services – (0970)
Department: Diagnosti Imaging
Manages and supervises the personnel of the Diagnostic Imaging Department which includes Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, C.T. Scanning, Ultrasound, and MRI Imaging. Assume the responsibility and accountability for providing patients with quality 25mg pill performed in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Acts as a positive, concerned role model for the Diagnostic Imaging Department in relation to patients, physicians, staff, and administrative personnel of Mt. Carmel Medical Center.

The Professional Services Billing Supervisor will coordinate and supervise employees of the Professional Services Billing Department. This position will supervise departmental staff in the following areas; interviewing, customer service, training, scheduling, evaluations, job tasks, policies and procedures, claims submission, collections, and third party reimbursement trends.
