Giving Opportunities

There are many ways to support the Mercy health care mission through contributions to the Mercy Hospital Foundation. The Foundation generates funds though various campaigns and events to support equipment and programs for patient care at Mercy Hospital. The following are some examples:

Annual Garden Party – The annual garden party benefit is held the first Saturday in June at Glencliff Farm Bed, Breakfast and Spa in Independence. The themed party is a fun-filled evening with entertainment and great food…supporting a great cause.

Annual Campaign – The Annual Campaign is a year-end campaign to help purchase much needed equipment for the hospital. In past years, the campaign has helped to fund a patient education video library; patient transfer systems; blood banking equipment; surgical equipment; Breast
Cancer Awareness activities; Health Information Kiosk; automated externaldefibrillators; clinical caregiver educational endowments and much more.

Memorial Contributions – Memorial contributions can be made in memory of a loved one. Any size gift is accepted, and gifts may be acknowledged through appropriate signage and other means of recognition throughout the hospital.

Deferred Gifting –
Mercy Hospital Foundation’s deferred gifting program offers a variety of investment options that not only support the Mercy mission of health care, but also offer significant financial benefits for donors during their lifetime. Financial planning professionals are available to the Foundation to establish deferred gifting arrangements for interested donors.

Where we came from

Founded in 1886, Mercy Health Center has enjoyed a rich heritage of caring in southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. Over the years, five hospitals have served the resident of the region with the most recent facility completed in 2002. The new $32 million facility provides a much needed prototype for rural health care through the integration of physician and retail services all under one roof. Mercy has operated under the continuous ownership and management of the Sisters of Mercy whose mission has unwaveringly been rooted in making a difference by touching lives.
